So it seems that other than the standard ‘hide it really well in a piece of high value food’ there is a pattern emerging of using some sort of trickery to fool your pupper into not noticing. For example several posts have mentioned using a clean version of their favorite food and alternating quickly between the clean and adulterated version. Though we would argue that you might even go for a full bait and switch if your pup is texture averse. Make them think you are giving them the normal one and the moment you put in their mouth switch it for the other.

Well, well, we have stumbled onto a true pawfessional here, this is great. It essentially takes all the ideas we have had so far and condenses them into one genius plan. So the peanut butter is actually an anti-texture agent in this story. But it alone is not necessarily enough to make your doggo entirely miss the adjustment you’ve made to their food. So by creating that meatball you are essentially driving them nuts and focusing all their attention on the food. Genius stuff, and judging by how often they must have to do this kind of thing, this is likely sound advice.
